Candolim Beach

GoaCentral > Beaches of Goa > Candolim beach

his is part of a 30 km stretch of beach coastline along the west coast of Goa by the Arabian sea that begins at Fort Aguada continues as Sinquerim Beach, then as Candolim beach and merges into Calangute Beach and then to Baga Beach and then Anjuna Beach and then to Vagator Beach finally ending at Chapora Beach and Fort.

Like most Goan coastal villages, fishing  and toddy tapping was the mainstay of the local economy but now tourism seems to have taken over with a number of starred and non-starred hotels in abundance.

Candolim is the birthplace of  Abbe Faria, the father of hypnotism and Goan freedom fighter. His statue graces Panaji.

The local festivals celebrated include
