Morjim beach

This stretch of isolated beach lies across the Chapora river and fort, along the north Goa coastline. It lies in Pernem taluka

Approach

There are a number of buses that run from Mapusa  and Pernem to Morjim. There is also a ferry service from the Chapora side of the river to Morjim and Chopdem. The nearest interstate bus station is at  Mapusa, the KTC bus station.

Nearby attractions

Apart from the beach, Pernem taluka has a lot of temples as it was not under Portuguese control until the new conquests. The important ones being 

Shree Morajaee Temple, Pernem
Shree Bhagwati Temple, Pernem
Shree Betal Temple, Pernem
Shree Shantadurga Temple, Pernem
Shree Sapteshwar-Bhagwati Temple, Mandrem

The other attraction is the Terekhol Fort across the Terekhol river.

Pernem is also famous for the majestic Deshprabhu House, belonging to the erstwhile Pernem royal family. Considered to be one of Goa's grandest Hindu Mansions, It is located in the town of Pernem.
