This is an isolated beach located along the south Goa coastline, almost at the southernmost tip. It is about 37kms from Margao and 2kms west of Chaudi and is located in Canacona taluka . It is reportedly one of the most enchanting of Goa's beaches and has the backdrop of the majestic western Ghats. South of Palolem lie a few other remote beaches including Colom and Rajbhag. The village of Palolem remains traditional with the locals working mainly in the Toddy tapping and fishing industry. A local attraction of historical significance is the Shree Mallikarjun Temple, Canacona. It is reportedly one of Goa's oldest temples. ApproachThere are frequent buses form Margao and Karwar that travel via Chaudi. From Chaudi one can take a local rickshaw to get to Palolem. There are also direct buses from Margao to Palolem.
